The Lutheran Order of Service for the 6th and last Sunday in Lent (Palm Sunday: Palmarum) is available here in isiZulu and seTswana. Today it comes with a sermon based on God’s word from the letter to the Hebrews in the twelfth chapter the verses 1-3 written by Pastor I.H. Ngwenya (LC in Nquthu, KZN) in isiZulu (wz1423140413 Palmarum) and translated as usual seTswana (wt1423140413 Palmarum) by my father Rev. E.A.W.Weber DD (Welbedacht, KZN).
The readings for this Sunday are:
Old Testament: Isaiah 50:4-9
The Epistle: Philippians 2:5-11
The Gospel: John 12:12-19
The liturgical colour is purple.
May you have a very blessed weekend and have time to meditate on the watchword for this week: The Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him. (Joh 3:14b-15 NIV)
The collect for this Sunday: Almighty and everlasting God, You sent Your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ, to take upon Himself our flesh and to suffer death upon the cross. Mercifully grant that we may follow the example of His great humility and patience and be made partakers of His resurrection; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. (LSB Altar Book 682)
If you are called to preach this weekend, may the triune God give you joy and strength, enthusiasm and wisdom, knowledge and insight – and the true words and pictures to preach his holy will faithfully according to his most precious revelation of his will and promises in both the Old and New Testament! However if you are not preaching, but listening – then listen as if God is talking to you + His precious gospel is “the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.” (Rom 1:16 NIV)
