Lutheran Order of service in isiZulu/seTswana

Workers in the Vineyard (1)The Lutheran Order of Service for the Sunday Septuagesima (16th February 2014) is available here in isiZulu and seTswana. Today it comes with a sermon based on God’s word from the Epistle of St. Paul to the Romans in the ninth chapter the verses 14-24 written by pastor F. J. Mtshali  (LC in Fernie, MP) in isiZulu (wz1415130216 Septuagesime) and translated as usual seTswana (wt1415140216 Septuagesime) by my father Rev. E.A.W.Weber DD (Welbedacht, KZN).

The readings for this Sunday are:

Old Testament:       Jeremiah 9:22-23

The Epistle:            1.Corinthians 9:24-27

The Gospel:            Matthew 20:1-16a

The liturgical colour is green.

May you have a very blessed weekend and have time to meditate on the watchword for this week: O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies. (Dan 9:18 KJV)

Here is a collect for this Sunday too: O Lord, graciously hear the prayers of Your people that we who justly suffer the consequence of our sin may be mercifully delivered by Your goodness to the glory of Your name; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever (LSB Altar Book Pg 863)

If you are called to preach this weekend, may the triune God give you joy and strength, enthusiasm and wisdom, knowledge and insight – and the true words and pictures to preach his holy will faithfully according to his most precious revelation of his will and promises in both the Old and New Testament! However if you are not preaching, but listening – then listen as if God is talking to you + His precious gospel is “the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.” (Rom 1:16 NIV)

We thank the Lutheran Heritage Foundation for supporting the distribution of hard-copies of these orders of worship and sermons throughout Southern Africa. If you also want a copy please do not hesitate to subscribe by writing to EAWWeber@bundunet.co.za.
