If any man thirst, let him come unto me …

I have seen his ways, and will heal him.

I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will lead him and restore comfort to him and his mourners, 1

saying, “If you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, your healer.” 2

Be not conformed to this world …

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. 1

You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 3

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? NEW INTER-DISCIPLINARY MA PROGRAMME STARTING 2013

An exciting new inter- and trans-disciplinary MA programme in African-European Cultural Relations is being launched by the Faculty of Humanities under the leadership of the Department of Modern European Languages at the beginning of 2013.

There is a growing need for intercultural mediators equipped with the necessary trans-disciplinary and cultural skills to be able to successfully cope in divergent contexts in our globalised world (the diplomatic and civil service, private, public and business organisations, etc.). In order to meet his need, various disciplines (Modern European Languages, Visual Studies, Philosophy, History, Political Science, Law, Sociology, Ancient Languages, English, Afrikaans, Anthropology and Religious Studies) are collaborating in order to offer a truly inter-disciplinary programme.

We invite applications from enthusiastic candidates with a suitable Honours degree, interested in expanding their horizons and cultural competence to be able to work in inter-disciplinary contexts.
