Herzlichen Glueckwunsch Bischof Voigt!

Mai in Edmonton vorgesehen.

May you have a very blessed weekend and have time to meditate on the watchword for this week: The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many (Mat 20:28 NIV)

If you are called to preach this weekend, may the triune God give you joy and strength, enthusiasm and wisdom, knowledge and insight – and the true words and pictures to preach his holy will faithfully according to his most precious revelation of his will and promises in both the Old and New Testament! However if you are not preaching, but listening – then listen as if God is talking to you + His precious gospel is “the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.” (Rom 1:16 NIV)

Herrenhuter readings for Thursday, the 27th March 2014

Cain and AbelThe LORD said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.” (Gen 4:10 NIV) Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you… Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you. (Jam 5:1-6 NIV)

Holiday of the annunciation

annunciation-1450Nine months before Christmas the Church commemorates the annunciation to Mary. This is what the evangelist St. Luke records for us and our salvation: “In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you.” Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favour with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.” (Luk 1:26-33 NIV)
