Lutheran order of the divine service in isiZulu and seTswana.

lazarus-raisingof-15thc-russianmuseumst-petersburg-638The Lutheran Order of Service for the 16th Sunday after Trinity is available here in isiZulu and seTswana. Today it comes with a sermon based on God’s word from Hebrews 10:35-36 (37-38) 39 in isiZulu (wz141006 Tr 16) and seTswana (wt1450141005 n Tr 16) by my father Rev. E.A.W.Weber DD (Welbedacht, KZN).

The readings for this 16th Sunday after Trinity are:

Old Testament:       Lamentations 3:22-26.31-32

The Epistle:            2.Timothy 1,7-10

The Gospel:            John 11,1(2)3.17-27(41-45)

Psalm:                    68:5a.5c-6.20-21

The liturgical colour is green.

May you have a very blessed weekend and have time to meditate on the watchword for this 16th Sunday after Trinity: But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: (2Ti 1:10 KJV)

Lord God, heavenly Father, through your Son you have revealed to us that heaven and earth shall pass away. Keep us steadfast in your word and in true faith; graciously guard us from all sin and preserve us amid all temptations, so that our hearts may not be overcharged with the cares of life, but all times in watchfulness and prayer we may await the return of your Son and joyfully cherish the expectation of our eternal salvation; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

If you are called to preach this weekend, may the triune God give you joy and strength, enthusiasm and wisdom, knowledge and insight – and the true words and pictures to preach his holy will faithfully according to his most precious revelation of his will and promises in both the Old and New Testament! However if you are not preaching, but listening – then listen as if God is talking to you + His precious gospel is “the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.” (Rom 1:16 NIV)

We thank the Lutheran Heritage Foundation for supporting the distribution of hard-copies of these orders of worship and sermons throughout Southern Africa. If you also want a copy please do not hesitate to subscribe by writing to EAWWeber@bundunet.co.za.

(Jer 17:9-10 KJV)  For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. (1Jo 3:20 KJV)

Sermon on Gn 2:4b-15

God created heaven and earthPreaching today at St. Paul’s on Gn 2:4b-15 that God’s creator, saviour and preserver of all – that’s why we ought to be grateful, confident and full of hope. He invites us to come, taste and see, how friendly he is to us. For it is he, who was, is and shall be merciful and full of goodness now and forever:
