Cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you.
1.Peter 5,7
Introit
If the Lord does not build a house, then those who build it work in vain. If the Lord does not guard a city, then the watchman stands guard in vain. It is vain for you to rise early, come home late, and work so hard for your food. Yes, he provides for those whom he loves even when they sleep. Yes, sonsare a gift from the Lord; the fruit of the womb is a reward. Sons born during one’s youth are like arrows in a warrior’s hand. How blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them. They will not be put to shamewhen they confront enemies at the city gate.
Psalm 127
Collect of the day
O Lord, we implore You, let Your continual pity cleanse and defend Your Church; and because she cannot continue in safety without Your aid, preserve her evermore by Your help and goodness; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Old Testament lesson
This is the accountof the heavens and the earth when they were created—whenthe Lord Godmade the earth and heavens. Nowno shrub of the field had yet grown on the earth, and no plant of the fieldhad yet sprouted, for the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to cultivate the ground. Springswould well upfrom the earth and water the whole surface of the ground. The Lord God formed the man from the soil of the groundand breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. The Lord God planted an orchardin the east, in Eden; and there he placed the man he had formed. The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow from the soil, every tree that was pleasing to look atand good for food. The Lord God took the man and placedhim in the orchard inEden to care for it and to maintain it.
Genesis 2,4b-9(10-14)15(18-25)
Gradual
It is better to take refuge in the Lord that to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord that to trust in princes.
Psalm 118,8-9
Epistle
God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. And God will exalt you in due time, if you humble yourselves under his mighty hand by casting all your cares on him because he cares for you. Be sober and alert. Your enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for someone to devour. Resist him, strong in your faith, because you know that your brothers and sisters throughout the world are enduring the same kinds of suffering. And, after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in Christ will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him belongs the power forever. Amen

Halleluja verse
Alleluia. Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Alleluia!
Psalm 95,1
Gospel
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t there more to life than food and more to the body than clothing? Look at the birds in the sky: They do not sow, or reap, or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you more valuable than they are? And which of you by worrying can add even one hour to his life? Why do you worry about clothing? Think about how the flowers of the field grow; they do not work or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these! And if this is how God clothes the wild grass, which is here today and tomorrow is tossed into the fire to heat the oven, won’t he clothe you even more, you people of little faith? So then, don’t worry saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ For the unconverted pursue these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 6,25-34
Hymn of the week
In God, my faithful God, I trust when dark my road; though many woes o’ertake me, yet He will not forsake me. His love it is doth send them and, when ’tis best, will end them.
My sins assail me sore, but I despair no more. I build on Christ, who loves me; from this Rock nothing moves me. To Him I all surrender, to Him, my soul’s Defender.
If death my portion be, then death is gain to me and Christ my Life forever, from whom death cannot sever. Come when it may, He’ll shield me, to Him I wholly yield me.
O Jesus Christ, my Lord, so meek in deed and word, Thou once didst die to save us because Thy love would have us be heirs of heav’nly gladness when ends this life of sadness.
“So be it,” then I say with all my heart each day. We, too, dear Lord, adore Thee, we sing for joy before Thee. Guide us while here we wander until we praise Thee yonder.

Christian Creed
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried. And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures and ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead, whose kingdom will have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets.
And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church, I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Let us pray for the whole Church of God in Christ Jesus and for all people according to their needs.
Heavenly Father, grant us the peace that comes from above and faith to trust in You for all things needful for this body and life, that we might have joy in Your grace now and in the life to come. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
O God, You have set Your reign and Your righteousness before us in the person of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help us always look to Him who has saved us from our sins, constantly seeking Him above all things. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
Divine Master, Your Son warns that we cannot truly serve You and pursue security in worldly wealth. Grant us firm faith in Your provision and the peace that this world cannot give. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
Bless our nation, and give us leaders who govern wisely. Protect all in our armed forces, and grant that they may serve honorably. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
O Lord, You have called us to bear one another’s burdens and thus fulfill the law of Christ. Comfort and console the sick and suffering, as well as those who long to be with us but cannot Ingrid, Karin, Christoph, Hilary, Mark, Manuela, Marlies, Markus, Ursula, Sylvia, Götz, Vivian, Detlev and Biljana, Matthias and Timo, Friederike, Olly, Isabel, Ele, Max und Louis, Dietmar and Angela, Thomas und Annette, Thomas, Mario, Micheline,. According to Your good pleasure, heal and restore them. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
Increase our faith, O Lord, and grant that all who come to Your Supper may come in repentance, seeking Your forgiveness, and in the unity of a true confession. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
O Lord, heavenly Father, we gratefully remember the sufferings and death of Your dear Son, Jesus Christ, for our salvation. Rejoicing in His victorious resurrection from the dead, we draw strength from His ascension before You, where He ever stands for us as our own High Priest. Gather us together from the ends of the earth to celebrate with all the faithful the marriage feast of the Lamb in His kingdom, which has no end. Graciously receive our prayers, deliver and preserve us, for to You alone we give all glory, honor and worship, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
The Lord bless You, and keep You;The Lord make His face shine upon You, and be gracious unto You;The Lord lift up His countenance upon You + give You peace.
Numbers 6,24-26
If you are called to preach this weekend, may the holy, triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – the one true and only God give You His rich measure of faith, hope, love, joy and strength, wisdom, knowledge and insight, clarity of speech, that You preach His holy Will faithfully and His gracious Promises invitingly and faithfully according to His biblical Word recorded by apostles and prophets. His most precious Gospel grants saving grace. It is His “power to save.” (Rom 1:16 cf. 2.Corinthians 12,9).
God´s Word and Luther´s teaching remain forever just as His, holy Christian Church. Hallelujah + Amen. Amen.
