A hopeful song in sad times.

Hortus Deliciarum: The Liberation of Lot from his captors.
  1. O Lord Jesus and Christ, One God, our heavenly king,
Together with the very first Father, Thy story we sing.
Thou holds King David´s line, Thou reign is God´s own way.
Thou gospel is now mine: Calling home all astray.
  2. To Thee we run in need Our surest help and fort.
Like sweet kids all agreed: “Send us Your Spirit´s sword.”
This cuts both sharp and strong Our savior´s own sledgehammer
To throw back hellish throng Leaving devils a stammer.
  3. O send us mighty armor, Which Thou Thyself once wore.
Gird with Your own truth´s glamor Our heart, and mind, and soul.
Thy weapons richly supply: Thy justice and Thy grace.
The shield of faith apply So we protected face
  4. To strongly fight and strike In Thy steps valiantly.
Grant to Thy friends alike, Who trust You faithfully,
Despite war and all terror, To build on Thy grace sure
Which Thy Word grants as favor And victory in demise.
  5. Keep us in trust most bold Through end time’s bitter strives.
Keep our love from going cold In injust and sorest drives,
Which tends to run all over. Help Thou and keep us, please,
Safe in Thy peace, o Savior, By Thy all-enduring grace.
