The Lord be with You +
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Matthews 11,28
Collect for this second Sunday after Trinity
Almighty God, grant to Your church Your Holy Spirit and the wisdom which comes down from heaven, that Your word may not be bound but have free course and be preached to the joy and edifying of Christ´s holy people, that in steadfast faith we may serve You and in the confession of Your name abide to the end; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and always. Amen.

We sing with the holy Christian church:
Praise, my soul, the King of heaven; to his feet your tribute bring.
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, evermore his praises sing.
Alleluia, alleluia! Praise the everlasting King!Praise him for his grace and favor to his people in distress.
Praise him, still the same as ever, slow to chide, and swift to bless.
Alleluia, alleluia! Glorious in his faithfulness!Fatherlike he tends and spares us; well our feeble frame he knows.
In his hand he gently bears us, rescues us from all our foes.
Alleluia, alleluia! Widely yet his mercy flows!Angels, help us to adore him; you behold him face to face.
Henry F. Lyte (1793-1847)
Sun and moon, bow down before him, dwellers all in time and space.
Alleluia, alleluia! Praise with us the God of grace!
God´s Holy Word for the 2nd Sunday after Trinity
The Introit invites to praise God´s love and faithfulness, justice, fairness
O Lord, your loyal love reaches to the sky, your faithfulness to the clouds.
Psalm 36,5-9
Your justice is like the highest mountains, your fairness like the deepest sea; you, Lord, preserve mankind and the animal kingdom.
How precious is your loyal love, O God! The human race finds shelter under your wings.
They are filled with food from your house, and you allow them to drink from the river of your delicacies.
For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.
God´s Holy Word according to the prophet Isaiah
“Hey, all who are thirsty, come to the water! You who have no money, come! Buy and eat! Come! Buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why pay money for something that will not nourish you? Why spend your hard-earned money on something that will not satisfy? Listen carefully to me and eat what is nourishing! Enjoy fine food. Pay attention and come to me. Listen, so you can live. Then I will make an unconditional covenantal promise to you, just like the reliable covenantal promises I made to David. Look, I made him a witness to nations, a ruler and commander of nations.” Look, you will summon nations you did not previously know; nations that did not previously know you will run to you, because of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he bestows honor on you.
Isaiah 55,1-5
The holy Apostle St. Paul writes to the Ephesians
(Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh—who are called “uncircumcision” by the so-called “circumcision” that is performed on the body by human hands— that you were at that time without the Messiah, alienated from the citizenship of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who used to be far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, the one who made both groups into one and who destroyed the middle wall of partition, the hostility, when he nullified in his flesh the law of commandments in decrees. He did this to create in himself one new man out of two, thus making peace, and to reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by which the hostility has been killed.)
And he (IX) came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near, so that through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer foreigners and noncitizens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household, because you have been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. In him the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
Ephesians 2, (11-16) 17-22
The Gospel according to the holy evangelist St. Luke
When one of those at the meal with Jesus heard this, he said to him, “Blessed is everyone who will feast in the kingdom of God!”
But Jesus said to him, “A man once gave a great banquet and invited many guests. At the time for the banquet he sent his slave to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, because everything is now ready.’
But one after another they all began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please excuse me.’Another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going out to examine them. Please excuse me.’ Another said, ‘I just got married, and I cannot come.’
So the slave came back and reported this to his master. Then the master of the household was furious and said to his slave, ‘Go out quickly to the streets and alleys of the city, and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’ Then the slave said, ‘Sir, what you instructed has been done, and there is still room.’
So, the master said to his slave, ‘Go out to the highways and country roads and urge people to come in, so that my house will be filled. For I tell you, not one of those individuals who were invited will taste my banquet!’”
Luke 14, (15) 16-24
Let us pray for the church and all people according to their needs
O Lord, we give You thanks that through the Holy Word You have called us to Your great supper. Enliven our hearts by Your Holy Spirit, that we may not hear Your Word without fruit, but prepare ourselves rightly for Your kingdom and not allow ourselves to be hindered by any worldly care. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
O Lord, bless Matthew, our Synod president, Hans-Jörg, our local bishop; Thomas, our superintendent; and our pastors Jim, Markus, Andrij, Vadym, Christian and all those, whom You have sent in the footsteps of Your Son to preach His peace amongst those near by and those far off. May they faithfully and boldly proclaim it to them all. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
O Lord, on this day we thank You for the gift of our earthly fathers. Bless all fathers, that they would care for their families, lead their children to Jesus and reflect Your love. Forgive those, who have failed in their calling and grant their children to bear with them, knowing You as the true and faithful Father in heaven. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
Heavenly Father, be gracious to those in need – Karin, Ingrid, Christoph, Friederike & Oli, Detlev & Biljana; Matzi, June, Natalia, Kyril, Milana, Angelika, Tamara, etc and for all those, who are pregnant and in good hope. Protect the unborn babies and grant them a happy birth and good growth and health. We ask for all those, who are especially dear to us – near and far – whom we commend to You in silence. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
O Lord, keep our tongues from evil and our lips from speaking deceit. Turn us from evil to do good and to seek and pursue peace, that as Your children we may see many good days according to Your promises. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
O Lord, keep us from surprise and dismay when the world hates us for Christ’s sake. Do not let us turn from Your love to embrace another way. Let our love be not only in word or talk but in deed and truth, according to Your Word. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
O Lord, sustain those who suffer mental illness. Let them know that You are near to the brokenhearted and You save the crushed in spirit. Uphold them in hope, until You deliver them out of all their afflictions. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
O Lord, give comfort to the sick and lonely and to those who mourn, and hear the prayers of all who are in any need [especially June, Annette, Christoph, Michael]. You are the Lord who feeds and nourishes us with Your wisdom. Help us turn to You in faith and find our every want and need answered in Your gracious favor. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
O Lord, grant courage, power and strength to those defending Ukraine against Russian aggression. Grant means and ways to repel the onslaught from the East and help the Ukrainians to regain Crimea and free all occupied areas. Stop the Russians committing all sorts of terror, genocide, and ignite biological, chemical and nuclear catastrophes. Lord in Your mercy, hear our prayers.
O Lord, through Christ’s blood You bring us near, and in His flesh You break down the wall of hostility between us. Bestow His peace upon us and between us as we commune today. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
O Lord, You have multiplied our days and added eternal years to our lives through the life, death and resurrection of Your Son. Sustain us in this truth when our days and years draw to a close, and renew us in the hope of eternal life; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
