The Doxology workshop with Professors Dr. Harold Senkbeil and Dr. Beverly Yahnke (http://doxology.us/) ended on a high note at St. Pauls Lutheran Church with a divine service held in isiZulu, seTswana and English. Epiphany Hymns, liturgy and songs for the Lord’s supper were sung from the Kopelo, Incwadi yokuhlabelela (2; 43; 79) and the Lutheran Hymnal (129, 130; 133 & 533). The readings were from Psalm 16, 1-11; Isaiah 44,1-8 and Matthew 17, 1-8, while the sermon was on the watchword for 2014 from Psalm 73:28:
While many pastors took to the road after tee and some light refreshments, the Church Council of the LCSA started its first regular sitting in 2014 with various reports, notifications and issues occupying the agenda throughout the day. Before going to the soccer game between Kaiser Chiefs & Mamelodi Sundowns everybody relaxed at supper over in the bishop’s place, where we had a lovely time in good company and under the lovely South African skies – even though we couldn’t see the Southern Cross at that time.
Now the pastors are on their way back home and our friends from Doxology are nearly ready to take on the long flight back home. May God bless the travels with his protection and gracious care +
