The Lord over life and death this day in 1555 called Justus Jonas the Lord out of this mortal and sinful life to die only to rise again when Jesus Christ comes again in glory to judge the living and the dead. Many years later (1989) – but still in Saxony – the peaceful German revolution started with the Monday Vespers in  St. Nikolai (Leipzig) and that got the demonstrations off on the right track and the socialist system down the drain.
