There is no faithfulness or steadfast love, and no knowledge of God in the land” (Hos 4:1 ESV) and the teaching text (Lehrtext) associated to that by Herrenhut: “But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!‘” (Luk 18:13 ESV)
