Hunting Deer With My Flintlock – NYTimes.com

Auf, auf zum froehlichen Jagen ...

Whereas it’s summer in South Africa and no hunting season, the northern hemisphere is in the middle of good hunting – even around Christmas. I remember big deer still in their skin hanging at butcher shops in Hessian villages and also sitting up from just after midnight waiting for first light and hopefully a sighting with my uncle, who was a forester in the area of Marburg. Today there’s a vivid description of a hunt in the NYT by Seamus McGraw. Read here what he writes about his hunt via Hunting Deer With My Flintlock – NYTimes.com.
