Lads in Transkei - always keen to be snapped

“A world in one country” – that was the motto for SA Tourism for quite some time – obviously ages ago. This again goes a long way to prove it. There are many ways of celebrating Christmas and in the press you’ll find the exotic and outlandish ones first. Even if Christmas is still celebrated in Church and in the family. Here’s a journalists view of Christmas in the E.Cape – formally called “Transkei”. Just like “Transvaal” that name has fallen by the wayside. Well – at least one thing is for sure: There is still lot’s of room for evangelization, catechesis and teaching of the Christian gospel – not only in the Transkei, but also in Transvaal and the rest of Southern Africa as long as people don’t know, what Christmas is really about – and Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Pentecost and Trinity for that matter too.
